2022 oil portrait of Mike, Her Husband.

National and International award winning artist, Sharon is captivated by truth.  Sharon sees a painting in nearly every object and strives to show others the incredible world of beauty of people, places and things.

Sharon always likes to give back and art is one of the many ways she gives back.   Teaching art to adults and teens for the past 20+ years has led Sharon to encourage students to find their own voice and gives them the tools they need to do so.   No two painters are alike and Sharon strives to help them find their individuality through painting.

Artist Statement

I cherish teaching others.  I want others to learn the art of painting and finding their own voice.  Making art and teaching art is my gtrue calling in life.

I want my art to be felt like a caress on the cheek. When you look at my landscapes, I want you to feel the breeze, smell the flowers, and get lost in the beauty of God’s creation.  When you look at my portraits, I want you to be able to feel that person, see more than just the composition, the likeness, but really find the soul that lies within.  The light behind the eyes.  The still small voice that resonates still.

When you look at my still life I want you to feel the essence of every object, the life of every living thing.  I want you to feel it’s beauty right down to your soul.
When you look at my pet portraits, I want you to be able to feel the animals heart beat, to be able to reach out and pet and hug that animal as they are meant to be.  To feel their soul.

I want you to feel something in my work that will move you for a life time. That will inspire you to create beauty, to contemplate beauty, to see the beauty inside yourself through your own eyes.

I want my artwork to bring peace to a world that is starving for peace.   I love to create movement in my artwork, more love, more peace.  For when we find peace within ourselves, and help others to find peace inside their selves, then it will be a peaceful world.  That is what my art is all about. that is why I  make art, that is why I teach.  I hope it heals your body, your mind, and your soul.

Art is not something one does;
it is a life one lives...
